Patricia Senghor, ICANN Fellow, presented FIRE/Seed Alliance activities during this meeting where several “Africa centric” events have been organized by Pierre Dandjinou, ICANN VP, Stakeholder Engagement-Africa. 2012 grant recipient, Dr Viv Padayatchy from Cybernaptics Ltd, was also there to present his project on the development of a proof of concept (PoC) for an affordable method of monitoring ground level of Water resources in remote areas in Africa.
Both intervened in the panel “Africa Untethered: The Era of Digital Africa”, which focused on Internet innovation and the role that African Internet entrepreneurs have played in transforming economies across Africa. This session has been a great opportunity to foster FIRE/Seed Alliance activities’ awareness among young entrepreneurs, researchers/academics in the audience. The panel session was recorded and it will be available for download in the coming months.
