Measuring and Detecting Network Interference in Southeast Asia

This project provided network measurements that shows the current and past Internet censorship and network interference of News Media, Political Criticism, Religion, Gender and Social Media Networks for Southeast Asian countries with censorship measurement data backed from Open Observatory for Network Interference (OONI) API and RIPE Atlas.

Additionally a pilot gender gap social audit was conducted for marginalized urban community in Malaysia based on Web Foundation’s Gender Gap Toolkit, to research and measure non-technical gaps in Internet access such as affordability, Internet literacy, knowledge or rights and accessibility and availability of gender related content such as government and civil society support services for welfare, sex education, abuse, and legal rights.
