Tiflolibros is the first digital library for blind Spanish speakers. Designed by blind programmers, Tiflolibros’ system was especially designed to require very little resources to be administrated and to provide easy access to those with little technological knowledge. The project, built through a collaboration of a wide network, today provides free access to over 45,000 books for more than 7,000 users and 300 institutions in 44 countries. It is a leading library worldwide and has been identified as success case by the World Intellectual Property Organization in the Marrakech Treaty to improve the access to reading for the blind.
